Services
Dementia affects each person differently, and every situation is unique. My services are designed to meet people where they are, offering support that adapts to the moment and strengthens connection, dignity, and calm.
Consulting Services
When someone you love is diagnosed with dementia, it can feel like the ground has shifted beneath you. Families are often given a diagnosis and general resources, but little guidance on how to navigate the day-to-day changes that follow.
My work focuses on helping you make sense of what is unfolding beneath these interactions and how to respond in ways that support connection, reduce distress, and bring more steadiness to daily life.
Initial Consultation (Virtual)
60 minutes | $135
The initial consultation offers a focused starting point for understanding what is happening in a specific situation and how to respond in a more grounded, relational way.
In this virtual consultation, we take one real scenario you are currently facing and slow it down together. We explore what may be driving the interaction, what the person living with dementia may be communicating through behavior, and what approaches may help reduce distress and increase connection.
The goal is not to provide directives, but to create clarity so you can see the situation differently and respond with more confidence and intention.
This session often provides both immediate insight and a clearer sense of what level of support, if any, may be helpful moving forward. Some families feel they have what they need after this session, while others choose to continue with more structured ongoing support when additional situations arise or patterns continue.
Who this is for:
Families or care teams facing challenging or confusing interactions
Those seeking clarity around dementia-related behaviors and communication changes
Individuals looking for reflective guidance to support next steps
Ongoing Care Partner Support
For many families and care teams, one session is not enough to fully support the evolving nature of brain change. Ongoing support provides a consistent space to reflect on real interactions as they unfold over time, adjust approaches, and strengthen communication and relational connection.
This work focuses on:
Understanding how dementia affects behavior and communication
Identifying relational approaches that reduce stress and support connection
Strengthening confidence, insight, and decision-making in the moment
Support is typically offered virtually for consistency and accessibility. In-person consultation may be available in select situations when it meaningfully supports the care environment.
Who this is for:
Families seeking ongoing reflection and guidance
Those navigating unpredictable or emotionally complex situations
Care teams who benefit from consistent support over time
Guided Engagement Sessions
In Person, Packaged-Based
Guided Engagement Sessions are intentionally paced, relationship-centered visits with the person living with dementia.
These sessions focus on attunement—paying attention to how the individual is experiencing the moment and adjusting my presence to support comfort, regulation, and connection.
I use Teepa Snow’s GEMS® model as a guide to understand how the brain may be functioning in the moment. This model highlights remaining strengths and abilities rather than focusing solely on loss, recognizing that abilities can fluctuate throughout the day for both the person living with dementia and those supporting them.
Care partners are welcome to observe when appropriate. However, the primary focus is direct relational engagement with the individual. Reflection and guidance for care partners typically occur afterward through conversation or follow-up communication.
These sessions may take place in the home or within a care community, depending on the setting.
Who this is for:
Situations where daily interactions feel stressful or unpredictable
Families seeking observation and guidance through real-time interaction
Those wanting personalized, relational support in the care environment
Ongoing Support Pathways
For many families, support naturally evolves into a combination of consultation and in-person engagement sessions. When appropriate, ongoing care is structured in a way that integrates both reflective consultation and guided engagement work.
This provides a more continuous form of support that may include:
Consultation-based guidance and reflection
In-person engagement sessions with the person living with dementia
Ongoing support structures are tailored to each situation and are determined following the initial consultation.
How to Begin
Most families begin with an Initial Consultation. From there, we determine together what type of ongoing support, if any, is the best fit based on your situation, goals, and level of need.
