For Families
Engagement Sessions
These flexible, person-centered sessions are designed to support individuals living with dementia in the ways that feel most meaningful to them—on that particular day. Whether in a private home or community care setting, the focus is always on meeting the person where they are, based on their current needs, preferences, communication abilities, and GEMS® state.
One session might involve simply offering companionship and a gentle walk; another day, it might include participating in a favorite activity, conversation, or quiet connection. There’s no fixed agenda—just responsive, respectful engagement tailored to the moment and the individual.
As a care partner (family or professional), you're welcome to join for real-time, hands-on learning. Or, if preferred, a follow-up summary can be provided to share observations, what worked well, and practical tips for continued person-centered interaction.
All sessions are grounded in my background as a speech-language pathologist as well as Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care®, including:
• GEMS®
• Hand-under-Hand®
• Positive Physical Approach™
Individual engagement sessions are 45-60 minutes; $85

Caring Cafe
A free, informal gathering designed for care partners to learn, connect, and explore the basics of dementia care in a relaxed setting. Hosted in homes or local community spots, these conversations offer practical insights on topics like adapting communication and interactions, creating meaningful connections, grief, how to build a team around you and your loved one, and more.
Ideally with groups of 10 or less.
NOTE: this is not a support group—just real talk, real questions, and helpful guidance shared in a relaxed and private setting.
